Have you actually followed your own link? It does not lead to a firmware package. Terrible support.
I echo the sentiments of others here, support is terrible, sending us a link to a dead page.
I've been trying for 10mths now to get a fix to the WiFi dropping off after a few idle hours problem, a problem which Vodafone Czech Republic have a firmware update for, but Vodafone UK dont and anytime I ask for the latest firmware, I'm either provided links to software downloads or told to log a support ticket directly, which will result in the same answer, we don't have the firmware update your looking for, we don't talk to Voafone Czech Republic.
Seriously, what gives...how can you be satisfied providing support like this, Vodafone is a joke
Good day James
Regarding this issue, could you please assist with the link for firmware upgrade? I have ongoing problems with my ZTE R212 where it disconnects and when connected it doesn’t take me to the internet but rather reroute me back to the modem.
I am at the stage now where i cannot use the device at all, once i connect device (laptop, phone) it disconnects the device completely and when i had it connected it would disconnect and not reconnect automatically.
I have tried the setting that has been provided in a few sites but still seem to fail.
You help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
For goodness sake!
Have you actually clicked through those links? Stop posting useless information.
Thanks for the reply but that link is of no help
404 ERROR Sorry, the page you are trying to view is not here

Yes, I have and it states:
If you need to update the firmware to a new version then a firmware update tool will be made available on the Vodafone Global Support website. If there is not a tool available on the website, then no firmware upgrade has been made available yet for the R212 so you cannot update the firmware.
You'd need to keep an eye on this page and this page also.

I have read through this thread and noticed that a number of people post replies with "fixes" and i appreciate the willingness to help but did anyone actually tested the links and "upgrades" provided. I am out in South Africa and the device worked really nice (for the short time that it did) despite the price. Not even ZTE offer support for this unit due to Vodafone branding (exclusivity) so im sitting with a paper weight at the cost of R1900.00 and still no wireless internet.
So until an update becomes available you should just stay without it?
So vodafone does not acknowledge that this device is a problem and should be fixed? This is a year later and with my technical knowledge i am pretty sure that it does not take that long to come up with a solution.
Personally, I think it's a little insulting.
At least just say, "no fix to your problem" or "no firmware updates have ever been issued". Don't make people think there may be a solution and follow some links to a dead end, it's just daft.
For anyone who is interested, I spoke directly to ZTE in the UK and China, firmware updates are available for the unit, but ZTE's reps were unwilling to share the new firmware with me because of existing carrier relationships in the UK [contractual obligations]. Vodafone have been too lazy to update this flawed hardware, and ZTE are too scared to hand out firmware updates to cutomers using badged units.
Don't expect any updates soon, given VF's track record on this forum, it looks like they are just trying to fob us all off until we upgrade to a newer unit. In my case, I just switched carrier for my mobile broadband..
Bloody useless. I would "thumbs down" anyone who posts that link without an explanation, if it was an option
Found something interesting in this regard, will share findings after testing 🙂
Vodafone Technical team,
You are embarassing yourselves sending the links to the mobile broadband software over and over again, even after being told this isn't the firmware by the 'non technical' public.
Some of the technical team do seem to know how to send the firmware, I have received it myself, do only half the team get proper training?
Regards
Can you guys that are experiencing problem please advise what version of the firmware you are using and what the problems is?
I found that the version 4.5 is far more buggy than any of the previous.
I loaded an old version 3.5 and find it to be most stable (only loaded last night but better than previous exp).
In my exp, i had 3.5, 4.2 and 4.5 and neither of the two are any better. From 4.2 it goes for bad to worse.
Connection: ok
Reconnecting: ok
Download speed: ok
Browsing speed: ok
That is all the areas that i have tested
I unfortunately don't have the device with me to guide you through step by step but will do so later.
@ydelong @nickdiacre @s4vva @MobileGuy @garethdenzil
I've sent you all an email containing the latest Firmware update we have for the R212.
Please follow the instuctions, and let us know how you get on.
This seem to be the same version as currently installed, if you check the firmware version it shows as BD_R212V4.0
However, if this is the latest firmware, where did all other (NEW) versions come from?
To check the version you need to go to wireless router web interface
