R228t battery issue

Hi

I have a new R228t device and it keeps running low. Am I ok to keep it on charge or will this mess up the battery just as it would a mobile phone? I also see in the manual that the battery’s max charge is 21%. Is that correct, because that seems a very low number.

Thanks!

Hi @Hfb12345 Our MiFi devices can be used plugged in to power it, if intended for use over long periods. The R228t model battery should provide up to 11.8hours of work time on a full charge. More information on this model and it's specifications can be found here.

I don't have an R228t but I used my R219z MiFi device pretty much non-stop for seven months when I was living in a caravan, between permanent homes. I always have it plugged in to the charger but, in the few times I've had to use it on battery power only, it has lasted quite a few hours. It goes with me on all my hotel trips and is still going strong after 1½ years.

Hi,

That is not a particularly useful reply to an issue I am also experiencing.  Why, when charging the battery according to the manual, does the blue light cease flashing changing to a solid blue at 21%.  How do l know when the battery is at full charge?

Thanks

Apologies for confusion over charging your Mobile broadband device @Arsonweary. The charge indicator switches from flashing blue to solid blue to indicate it's over 20% charged and is no longer in power saving mode. When the battery's charged, the light will go off. Once the device is fully charged, it shouldn't need charging for 11-12 hours. Hope this helps, but of you need any further help with this, don't hesitate to give us a shout.
