Vodafone have 90Mhz of the n78 5G spectrum available, but only seem to deploy 50Mhz of n78. Is there a reason why they're not also deploying 40Mhz n78 along with it?
I know they also deploy n1 & n8 but these don't really bring anything to the table in terms of bandwidth, if anything they slow things down (n8 is really only to improve coverage so it looks like 5G is more available than it is, but it's not going to give any 5G advantage in terms of bandwidth, not really sure what the point of n1 5G is).
I live in Newbury (Vodafone's home town) and the 5G coverage provided by EE & 3UK is so much better (and faster). Vodafone seem to be very slow at rolling out 5G, even in their home town, with mast upgrades being few and far between. 3UK are putting up 5G masts everywhere in Newbury, offering 1Gps + speeds and even worse customer service.
Not sure why Vodafone are being so slow to rollout 5G, and when they do they don't deploy all their spectrum (where as EE & 3UK do) seems a bit mad. It's like you're trying to have the 3rd best 5G network (no one is ever going to be as bad as O2 for 5G) in the UK. Maybe it's a waiting game to see what the CMA say about MergeCO? That aside, it's a great way to lose customers to your main competitors, so just wondered why?
