I still think that a public acknowledgement of achievement is needed here on the forum, it's just finding an automated way of doing it?

From looking a little deeper after your post I believe ranking changes from receiving 'Thanks' and 'Solutions'. ?

Solutions do count towards the ranking. I believe they are the same as getting 10 thanks.

And also number of posts also improves your Ranking as well.
