Pokemon Go is a monster mobile hit

Excerpt from the link.....

"Police said the victims were playing Pokemon Go - a new smartphone app that encourages gamers to search local areas to find Pokemon in the "real world".
Certain locations offer bonuses and higher chances of catching rare species and that's where officers said criminals had been lying in wait.
"It is believed these suspects targeted their victims through the Pokemon Go smartphone application," the post on the force's Facebook page read.
"Apparently they were using the app to locate people standing around in the middle of a parking lot or whatever other location"

The above is currently happening in the United States.

My thoughts.

Something I've not personally seen as a potential danger but it makes sense that a would be mugger would know the person visiting these areas to collect a Pokemon would have a Smartphone and personal possessions on them.

My three children are currently enjoying using this App so will be pointing out to them the potential issue being experienced in the USA which could be copied here in the U.K.

I have read that some people using this gaming app that they are having to walk / exercise using it !

Pokemon Go firm fixes 'full Google access' error

Excerpt from the link....

"The firm behind smash-hit game Pokemon Go has promised to "fix" an error that suggested it had been granted full access to users' Google accounts.

In a statement, developer Niantic Labs said that it had only ever logged user IDs and email addresses.

A privacy row erupted when iOS users who signed up via their Google accounts were told that the game had "full access" to their information.

It appears Niantic may have used outdated user agreements.
The Android version of the game did not appear to have the same problem."
