The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted that this is coming with the Galaxy S6. It's a joint venture with Mastercard and will only work with the S6, apparently, as this has the "necessary hardware", which I'm guessing is the secure element that's proved elusive so far.
This is certainly stealing a march on everyone else, possibly including Apple and could be the game-changer that finally kick-starts contactless mobile payment. Whether it's effectively a credit or pre-paid card (like Vodafone Smartpass) remains to be seen, but it's potentially interesting.
I'm running ahead of the curve, but it would be great to hear from anyone who's used it once the device is launched. How easy is it to register with? What's involved? Does it work?

Hi
Ive been reading more on the BBC Tech site in this and it certainly looks to be an interesting venture.
Excerpt from the link “At launch, Samsung Pay is only available in the company's home country.
But it will expand to the US on 28 September, and the firm has indicated that the UK, Spain and China will be next to get the facility sometime in the near-future.” Source BBC Tech - Samsung Pay: What is it and how does it compare to Apple Pay?
Ive been using Pay now for a week and up to press have been impressed with how convenient it is.
