A recent change implemented by Ofcom now allows you to switch you home phone and broadband suppliers much easier than it every has been.
They are now looking at the possibility of doing the same for mobile phone connections.
The full announcement can be seen at http://media.ofcom.org.uk/news/2015/consumer-switching/
What do people think, good idea or something better left as is?

Don't worry @BandOfBrothers BT are putting your prices up again in September
I think implementing a similar switching system for mobild phone would be massively beneficial to customers. There would be no need to use the overcopmlicated, slow and sometimes confusing PAC system when moving between providers.
In my eyes the system should be simple:

I agree - the easier the better. 6% churn between networks is very low.
But then again, I've been with Vodafone since the early 1990's!

Ofcom outlines plans to improve mobile switching.
”Ofcom is today outlining options to make it easier for consumers to change their mobile phone provider.
Consumers currently face different processes for switching mobile provider, depending on whether they wish to keep their existing mobile phone number.“

My thoughts : Any introduced process that helps with this is a welcomed one. Often people are switching Networks because of some level of frustration with their existing Network or through lack of signal or monthly costs so any frustration caused by switching Networks is the last thing a person needs.
