iPhone battery replacement

Hi all, I have an iPhone 14 under contract with Vodafone and recently I’ve been having to charge my phone 4-5 times a day. I’ve checked the battery health under settings regularly and has been on 85% for 6 months or so.

Popped to Vodafone shop the other day after using the Vodafone battery health checker in the app which said I had a fault. They said I could send it off for repair and get it 10 days later or call the repair agent (EE store the next town over) and if they have a battery in stock it can be done same-day.

I called EE and they said they can do a diagnostic check but AppleCare only covers batteries that are at 80% and below. Even though in the 9 minute call I had with them my battery drained 25%. So battery health is absolutely not 85%, it’s gone downhill in the last month.

Has anyone else had this problem. Phones fine otherwise but I’m paying for insurance with Vodafone and as I got a brand new phone on a contract and I don’t even own it outright yet I t though any battery issues would be covered under warranty?
