Bufferbloat

I seem to have high broadband bufferbloat on latency. I cannot see any QoS settings on the router and would like to know how to improve this. I have a few smart devices and also notice some lag while online gaming

@Willow123, back on track. Comparing my traceroute to your's you are struggling a lot with latancy. Unfortunately it seems the IPv6 for your gateway (like mine) has no identifier. If you could look in your router's status pages for the "Gateway", it'll be an IPv4 that we'll be able to identify - and it'll probably quite a distance from where you actually are.

If you're worried about security don't. My gateway is 90.246.0.1 (Leeds).

Well welcome to the Edinburgh gateway, I doubt hope you're somewhere close. Now reboot your router - you've posted your public IP and it won't take long before it gets probed.

I am in Glasgow. I presume Edinburgh would be the correct routing for me?

Naturally one would assume so. Members have had problems with the Edinburgh gateway recently with slow downloads and high latency. If you could set up a thinkbroadband BQM and run that for a couple of days that may show something similar. Does your download slow down during the peak-time evening hours?

I'm not entirely sure. I will set this up and see. Thanks Is there anything else I can do in the meantime?

I have just set up the thinkbroadband monitor. I am wondering if it is okay to restart the router when running the monitor testing, or if I should leave it to get a more accurate picture. Currently my internet is quite unstable

There is no problem with restarting the router. it will just show as no connection, but you will need to update the IP address on the monitor as it will almost certainly change.

This is my cuurent BQM so far. I'm not sure what this means. Could you help me understand this. I will send my full days one in a day or twof4b04bae8cf9f7e035a5578ccca67139146ff61b-11-11-2024.png
