Hi, I have Pro 2 (2.5Gb) fibre and for the last few weeks I’ve been unable to update windows apps on the Microsoft Store? It works fine if I tether to my phone so definitely something on the router (Pro2) or line. I’ve disabled the firewall but can’t think of anything else to try? Anyone seen this before?

@addinuff Have you checked the Windows firewall on the PC? Have you counted yourself lucky that this may mean you haven't got another duff update or forced to take Windows 11 when you don't want it.

I turned it off, made no difference

@addinuff The following URL lists all the Microsoft endpoints for Windows 10, including the store. You can use tools, e.g. traceroute, to see if you can reach them. There are also links to Microsoft articles telling you how to disable or enable them.

Im on W11 but I found the endpoints in the doc - most were ok but a few were unreachable (with or without VPN)

@addinuff It could be a W11 thing. I have a spare box with W11 on it for testing, I'll have to check it and see if it's doing the same.

@addinuff It looks like a W11 thing. I am on my W11 test box right now. I've selected the "Updates & Downloads" section and all of the rows where the apps should be showing are blank grey. When I click on the blue "Get Updates" I get just the spinning circle in the blue box and nothing else for about 2 minutes and then finally the rows are populated. Oh well, I didn't want the updates right now and it looks like I'm stuck with 31 updates trying to download. Another reason I am pleased that my normal PC is still on W10.
Have you tried changing the DNS? I use 1.0.0.1 primary and 8.8.4.4 secondary (that's Cloudflare and Google). I can see all the DNS lookups and none are failing to be resolved.

Yeah I turned that off. Its got to be something on the connection/line. I even set a static address and allowed DMZ through firewall, still not working. It works fine on WiFi teathered to my phone and I also found out if I establish a VPN on my PC it also works, so deffinatley something to do with Vodafone. I guess this workaround will do for now when I need to update windows apps/updates but it should just work?

@addinuffI've just looked on my PC and some Apps have updated automatically because I have the option to update other Microsoft products turned on (settings > updates > advanced options). Other apps are still at an older version and I have just tested by updating Microsoft Maps. A difference I may have is that I only use a local account on the PC and I am not logged-in to the store.

Thanks but by using a VPN it works? so it cant be anythign to do with a local account? can it?
