New Android app what a pile of poop

Okay had no choice in the matter but I now have the all new android app, I'm sorry it isn't fit for purpose at all I think a bunch of monkeys could do a better job

The problems start at the app not recognising my wifi is active, it is green to.the router but states I have no WiFi active, yet I'm using the WiFi.

It goes downhill from there, nothing else works, I cannot access my account, broadband tools, see what devices are active on the network, actually nothing works at all, every lik just stalls the app.

It is to out it mildly a joke, I seriously doubt I will be able to access anything should I have any issues.

And that includes the backup dongle which i am paying fo as extra fornthebpleasure of that also didnt work when we had an outage over the weekend.

the fact that the service is running is the only good point so far and I have every faith in the broadband as it has been 99.9% flawless for the last year.

So what I want to know is why you have introduced this worthless app that doesn't work when the prevoius app was top notch.

The attached picture is what the app shows me, pathetic that iit's soon bad.

Having exact same issue with mine. Cannot control or change anything. Did you get a solution?

Mate it's awful isn't it? They've somewhat silently taken away Alexa voice control from the super WiFi plus booster as well.

My Alexa booster hasn't worked properly since I got it so no change there for me. I'm really surprised they don't give a f about it and haven't said they are working on any solution. I've saw that a few people are downgrading the app to 4.1.0 which restores everything but run a risk as it's not from official sources.

They have announced that Alexa voice control is not supported anymore https://support.vodafone.co.uk/Broadband/Pro-Broadband/1699049552/How-do-I-use-Alexa-with-Super-WiFi....

I have the same issues. It's utter rubbish.

Yes, the current Android BB App is indeed totally disfunctional, would like to believe that VF tech people are aware of this and are investigating, perhaps wishfull thinking on my part 🤔
The only time the app recognises the Wi-Fi connection is after the first install/startup, subsequent app starts report Wi-Fi inactive.
Even with Wi-Fi active virtually nothing else works anyway as already reported in this post.

I have managed to get the older program revision of the app, v.4.6.7, apk file and "side load" this on my Android phone after removing the current v.5.0.3 revision, however, when attempting to run the app it won't open as it's "old" and insists on updating first 🙄

Have spent many hours today trying to get around this, disabling app updates, trying a number of third party Android utilities which are supposed to extract/re-brand apk files in order to ignore updates, all to no avail, gave up in the end.

As a very new to Vodafone BB & Digital Phone customer, 3 weeks, the only reason I used the phone app was to enable acceptance of a "shorter" Wi-Fi password which saved me a lot of time and effort resetting my many Wi-Fi connected Home Assistant devices, this of course was not possible on the Hub GUI which now requires a min of 12 characters PW since the last FW update.

Anyone any further ideas on how to get the old BB app running on Android assuming it's going to be a long wait for FV tech to come up with a fix (if at all) for the current revision?

I have the THG3000 router with 19.4.0551-3261143 firmware and version 5.0.3 of the Android app, and it still lets me set an 8 character Wi-Fi password. Perhaps give it another go.

@JayachMany thanks for the reply.
My narrative regarding the "shorter" Wi-Fi PW may have been misleading, apologies.
Yes, my Hub FW is the same revision as yours, presumably that's the latest which from memory requires a min of 12 character Wi-Fi PW.
I was able to use a 9 character Wi-Fi PW set via the BB app which I presume was the older revision then, this suited my requirement at the time to duplicate my previous routers Wi-Fi settings in order to make migration a lot easier, my Home Assistant Shelly and Google devices can be quite time consuming to re-configure.
I have no immediate requirement to reset my Wi-Fi PW just now but would like the option in future to do so if necessary via the Android BB app as previously possible.

As related in this post by other members, the BB Android app v.5.0.3 is totally non functional to me on my Android Xiaomi Redmi 9 mobile where it certainly worked previously presumably on an earlier program version.

Surprised that you can still access Wi-Fi settings on the Android BB app v.5.0.3 software, I wonder could it possibly be Android operating system version related 🤔

By coincidence, my phone is a Redmi Note 9, so presumably our Android versions are similar.

Personally I have never really used the app, it was only after the firmware changed the minimum requirements for the Wi-Fi password I gave it a go, as I had read on here it was less stringent via the app.
