Previously with talktalk now trying to set up Outlook 2007 with Vodafone account.
Using outlook account set up I enter name, email address, pop.vidafone.net, send.vodafone.net then my new vodafone user name and password.
No authentification or encryption selected.
Outgoing pop server 110
Incoming server 10
No connection to servers.
What am I doing wrong ?

@Jimco200 says he has already got an Outlook.com email so not ISP based, so it's strange he was trying to use the ISP's servers.
Whilst I agree about using a newer email client, I'm still using Outlook 2003 on my main laptop.

Thanks everyone for your information and guidance.
I eventually saw the error of my ways and corrected all my misconceptions.
I managed to engage with the Outlook.com servers and with the help of the Microsoft support link it all started to make sense.
Your support was much appreciated.
