Hi @Lynder18 - these are all the port sizes on the Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub:

  • Ports: 1 x ADSL/VDSL/g.fast (RJ-11), 4 x Gigabit Ethernet LAN (RJ45), 1 x Gigabit Ethernet WAN (RJ45), 2 x FXS for analogue phones, fax, pos (RJ11), 2 x USB 2.0

Is this the one you have?

Thanks for reply. Trouble is so far I’ve ordered 3 different cables with this jack plug size but they all were 2 big to fit in the socket on the THG3000 router. It should be simple I would have thought. Mind you would be better if they just supplied a long cable with router

Potential problem with longer cables on the DC side of the transformer is voltage drop.  The longer the cable the greater the effect until the router no longer works.  The length of the DC cable is no doubt calculated for optimum performance power supply wise so proceed with caution.

On a similar theme, Amazon Echo owners are finding that their devices are not working with extensions on the DC side and are being told to extend on the AC side - not a good look when you want to wall mount a distance away from a 230v wall socket.

These 5.5mm extension cables also come in a 2.1mm pin/hole version, perhaps you got those?

It is just possible to measure it with a ruler/tape measure. The .4mm difference on the plug hole should be noticeable..

I believe it's a 5.5mm x 2.5mm connector, so one of these should be suitable:

No guarantees though, haven't tried it myself. I'm assuming you have the THG3000 router.
