Pro broadband 4g backup dongle not recognised

I have just had switched to the pro broadband with 4g backup. When I'm in the router settings the 4g dongle is not showing up, under Status & Support > Status > Mobile Status everything is listed as blank or 0 and the status us "Offline". Under Internet > Mobile Data (3G/4G) there is a message saying "The Preferred Network Type and PIN configurations cannot be configured when no mobile dongle is connected" and both of these options are greyed out. The dongle is plugged into the side USB port and has a solid purple light.

 

I have tried out the dongle plugged into a laptop and it works as expected and I can load webpages. It just looks like the router is not recognising it for some reason. How can I get this working?

As if by magic 10 minutes after posting this message the router updated and recognised the dongle!

Count yourself lucky!  Most people seem to find that the only way to get the dongle to be recognised is to have tech support push an update onto their routers

I wonder if they had already done this as I'd been online to tech support and they had sent through some updates. I guess it took a while to come through.
