I've tried to sign up for Broadband with Vodafone and each time I placed an order, it was cancelled. I wasn't the one cancelling the order. I tried again today only to be told I failed the credit check. I checked my credit rating on Equifax. Before I tried to sign up with Vodafone, my credit score was 1000. Today it has fallen to just over 800. The reason for that? Repeated hard searches by Vodafone each and every time I went through the process, they stuck another hard search on my account.
Let me make this totally clear, my mortgage is paid off, I have a 0 balance on my credit card and I have never defaulted on my car loan. My credit rating was perfect right up to the point I tried to sign up for Vodafone Broadband. I really did want to leave my current ISP but Vodafone has really screwed that up for me now. I've raised a case with Equifax challenging these searches.
I don't expect the community to help with this, just a cautionary tale.

To be honest, if Vodafone is misusing the Credit Checking services there should also be an offer of restorative compensation.

For £3.50 credit check
So today I started from 11:00 to call vodafone and I couldn't pass a way from that stupid AI, I google and find how to get out of AI , after so many questions because is like Alcatraz anyway (I did my self 3 times and nothing happened) they don't explain that they have to do a credit check for £3,50 so bottom line I lost my time with them from 11am till now that is 1pm the first call it took me 1h30min and the bloke never came back and he says ( it will take 5-6min to talk with my manager it was 1h30min and never came back) so I didn't end call I use my second phone and call again to 191 this person I couldn't make if was male o female but him/she helped fast and she/he told me didn't pass my credit check off course when I did already 3 of my own plus 1 the guy who never came back and 1 more the lady/guy so in total I got 5 times ##~## up thanks vodafone I've been with you guys since 2015 I can wait my contract to finish and I not going to renew I think this is it for me
