Wifi speeds on new Ultra Hub

Hello, 

I recently got Pro package with Vodafone (900 mbps) which came with latest Ultra Hub Router. The problem I have is that the WIFI speed is much lower than on wired connection. ON Wifi I get 200-400 mbps even If I bring device to the router ( makes no difference how close the device is) on Wired connection the speeds are 700-800. Would anyone know why that is? has this router got some setting that I am unaware of that it only allows 50% speeds on for wifi devices?

Would anyone know if getting a third party router would fix this issue for me like TP link router or something? as I belive I am getting the speeds but the router don't want to give them to wifi deivces. This happens on all devices even WIFI 6 compatible.

@Kevinpug  This is a common question here and it may help to have a search. Meanwhile here are some ideas ...

  1. don't get closer than 6ft/2m to the router as the WiFi is so strong as to swamp the device
  2. make sure you are not suffering from a neighbour on the same channel
  3. remember that the speed is dependant on the device as well as the router
  4. speed tests over WiFi can be unreliable
  5. the speed contract is only as far as the router and does not include connected devices
