Internet speed when using sky mini's as wifi boosters

Hi all, hoping someone can help!

Had Vodafone fibre 500 go live today, speed is good (over 400) and even managed to connect up Sky Q.  My problem is that once I connect my 4 mini box's and set them to act as a wifi booster my speed (when sitting near one of the box's) drops to about 10mbps....turn the wifi booster setting off and it goes back to the sort of speed I would expect.

I've tried compatibility mode and this does the exact same thing and has a less reliable connection on the main Q box.

It's driving me mad as have an area of the house that struggles to get good wifi and the mini box's have previously (sky broadband) resolved this, surely I should get better than 10% of my speeds?

any help appreciated.

As far as I know, the Sky mini boxes act as a mesh with the Sky router. No Sky router, no mesh.

thanks for the reply, Sky did enable this a number of years back to support 3rd parties.  It does work just very slowly.

Without the Sky router the mini's have to connect directly to the Sky Q box without the mesh. I suspect that is why it's slower.
