I got a new pay as you go phone number and I topped up £40 and it has not gone on my bundle

Is it possible your mobile data was turned On so some of the top up was inadvertently used before the money could be taken for the bundle 🤔 This is just one scenario.
I'd suggest to contact Customer Services on 191 or Live Chat so that they can access your Vodafone Account to see what's gone pear shaped.
The Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook or X also have Account Access.
There is no Account Access via this user to user forum.
