As your number's already been ported to our network, you'll just need to switch it from a physical SIM to an eSIM.

Please have a look at our dedicated eSIM page, this has some checks you should do to make sure your phone is eligible. It also explains how to go about moving from your physical SIM to an eSIM!

hi @Mark,. if I go through the physical Sim to esim process, at what stage do I take out and bin my physical SIM card ? the website link,  doesn't go into any great detail throughout the process journey.

Why do you want an eSIM? Do you want to use a second SIM? If not, there's not a lot of point.

hi @chistery I've got an Apple Watch GPS only version,  and want to upgrade to Apple Watch Cellular version in future,  just to start the ball rolling really.  as I've been told you need have an esim to get a Vodafone one number service,  also iPhone are esim only in U.S.A, so it only a matter of time before the same come over here

@Anonymous You'd take out the physical SIM once you've had confirmation that the eSIM is working. I'd recommend not throwing away the physical SIM though, just in case we ever need to reactivate this due to any issues, it'll save you needed to pick up another one in a store or waiting for one to arrive 🙂

You don't need an eSIM in your phone to be able to sign up to the Apple watch plan and get an eSIM on your watch.

Unless you need to free up the physical SIM slot, I wouldn't bother with a phone eSIM until you actually need it.

hi,  I've gone ahead and converted my physical sim to an esim,  if I delete esim by mistake or delete esim as going to new phone,  what the usual procedure?

thanks again

Don’t worry if you accidentally deleted your eSIM @Anonymous – we’ll email you a new QR code. You can use it to reactivate your eSIM if you need it or simply redownload it to your device:

  • Go to Settings > mobile data > add data plan
  • The deleted eSIM profile will be available to redownload

If you’ve accidentally deleted your eSIM from an Apple Watch – log in to My Vodafone and carry out an eSIM swap:

  • Select Settings
  • Choose View on the plan you want to edit
  • Under Manage SIM and switching, choose Activate my SIM
  • Follow the instructions for eSIM swap

Good luck.  I do hope that it goes well as I have been told today that Vodafone currently cannot provide eSIM subscriptions for Smart watches.   There is an internal issue that they are trying to fix.
