Redundant SMS telling me I have no voicemails

Dear Community

I am receiving SMS messages saying "Voicemail has no new messages. Please dial 121".

I want to get an SMS when I do have messages but not to say I don't.

Why would I want any kind of notification to tell me:

1 - that I have no messages?

2 - to dial 121 where a voice tells me again I have no messages?

Is this a bug? (iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 13.7 (because I need that OS for compatibility with my work)

Thanks for any help

Hi @Sound_Patrol

That certainly sounds strange 🤔 Shall we start with the typical tech answer of have you tried turning voicemail off and back on again?

To turn it off, you can dial 1211 from your device, and then 1210 to turn it back on again

Give that a try and let us know how you get on! 😊

Other way around Ami,

1210 turns off the voicemail diverts

1211 turns them back on again

But to be fair, the don't actually turn off the voicemail, just stop the diverts to it. So if voicemail is sending messages to the end customer, it'll need a more than that.

Perhaps worth contacting technical help to see if they can delete and then reactivate your voicemail box.
