Vodafone PAC code

Hi, once i request a PAC code from my old provider and i pass it on to Vodafone, could you please let me know:

1)  how long will it take to move over?  

2) how long will my phone be out of service for?

edited to add:  Good point @chistery with numbers not porting over a weekend.

Also, always try and PAC in on a Mon or Tue. If it goes wrong you don't want to find you have to wait till after the weekend.
