So my Z fold 3 inner screen died this week, there was a bright white line in the middle of the inner screen , so took it to my local Vodafone shop where was told there is major problem with this device , and wasn’t the first and probably not the last with some kind of problem with the inner screen .

so the phone was then sen away to Vodafone repairs as it was only 10 months old so still well under warranty or so I thought ! Turns out that as I replaced the dreaded screen protector on the inner screen myself as told to do so by Vodafone employee in January this year that I had invalidated the warranty ( original screen protector had started to crease and had then started to accumulate various small objects  in the broken parts of the protector ) .

spoken to 3 different departments, first Vodafone repairs which stated the fact that because the original screen protector had been removed that there is nothing they can do unless I pay 400 pound for them to replace the screen lol

2nd person was someone in warranty department that said it was due to the device had been dropped and that’s why it can’t be fixed under warranty , mmmmmm

3rd person was custom services who then said has I had Samsung care + which came bundled with the phone I should take it up with them as there was nothing Vodafone could do ?

I find this disgusting as I was not aware that replacing inner screen protector should suddenly brick my £1500 pride and joy ! Why wasn’t this mentioned before point of sale ? If the screen protector wasn’t or isn’t supposed to come away then why would it ? And that if you get any delamination on the original protector you need to send it away for Samsung to repair it to keep within the warranty, how stupid is this practise

Hi @Jazz321334

I own the Samsung Fold³ and the inner screen protector delaminated on my phone so I carefully removed it which does not invalidate the Samsung Limited 2 year manufacturers warranty.

However if the screen is damaged vua the act of removing the protective screen protector then this does invalidate the warranty.

I now use mine without one.

Others have decided to replace it themselves or ask Samsung.

I would suggest to use a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre for support as they know their devices better in my opinion.

Yes knowing everything now it would of been better just going straight to Samsung and cutting out the middle man ( Vodafone ) as their so called experts advised me that I could change the protector , they even suggested which one to buy !

when I changed the screen protector in feb this year everything was fine in fact it was better as it wasn’t a glossy finish, so for Vodafone to just look at the protector and see that it wasn’t the original then just use that as an excuse is mind boggling and then to say that it was due to the phone being dropped ( which it wasn’t and it has been in a case which was free with the phone as a promotional extra ) just goes to show that they are just reading from a script on how to pass the buck .
