Hello,
I recently bought a Cisco IP Phone SPA525G2 which is locked with the Vodafone OneNet firmware. How do I remove this firmware to use the phone with my own SIP server as I only plan to use the phone at home and therefore cant use OneNet.
Thanks!

Hi Steph,
I would like to know how to remove Vodafone customization from the phone.
How to replace to open?
I know how to overwrite the unknown admin password.
I can access my used phones with full admin privilege.
I have DHCP, WEB TFTP, and more tools.
A serial port attack is not a problem for me.
Thank you for any help.
Regards
Tony

Hi @Tony6905, have you tried restoring the phone to factory settings?
You can do this by following the below steps:
- Press Setup.
- Scroll to Device Administration and press Select
- Scroll to Factory Reset and press Select.
You can find more information setting up and using your phone in the online User Guide.

Hi Mark,
Thank you. Resetting to the factory doesn't clear the customization.
I wish it was that simple.

Sorry to hear that @Tony6905 In the user guide Mark provided there are some contact details for Cisco who may well be able to help further in removing any Vodafone customization. I hope this helps.

Hi Andy,
Thank you for your answer. The Cisco support doesn't help.
The SPA525G is an end-of-life product.
The Cisco support makes helps if you have a service contract etc....
I (and others) researched this topic, but nobody doesn't make any help.
A lot of people want to push the SPA525 (SPA50x) RC units to the second life. I believe the Vodafone engineers know how to change the customization to open.
And that is possible, because a saw lot of RC units which has OPEN customization and usable any network.
But doesn't tell. I don't know why.
Hurra! Make to more electronic waste.
Regards
Tony

@Tony6905 - thanks for posting those images. The best thing I can advise is to double check this by reaching out to our One Net Team. If it's possible for this to be done, it's them you'd need to talk to, as we don't have access over the Community here.

Hi Gemma,
Can you give a good email address for One Net team.
The email address on WEB sites doesn't work.
Thank you
Tony
