Hi, I have just received my code via email for this device and double and triple checked the IMEI but the unlock code is unsuccessful. I cannot use my alternative sim with contract until this device is unlocked. It shouldn't have been locked in the first place to be honest. Kind of why all companies are selling unlocked phones as this unlocking us a fiasco. I have three attempts left before the phone locks do help me now please.

Hi @PazzaTgreat

I , many others and Ofcom agree with you that phones should be already unlocked to all network's out of the box.

Hopefully some day soon we'll see this come to pass.

Ok may I ask if the alternative network sim card your using is activated i.e connects to mobile data etc  ?

Your also right to be cautious as using up all the attempts will Hardlock the phone which means then it'll need sending away by Vodafone to have the unlock counter reset.

Vodafone Live Chat  or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries can check the Nuc you've been supplied and if deemed necessary can look at issuing an alternative Nuc.

We do tend to see a few more posts from Sony Handsets owners experiencing unlocking issues !

It should just be a case of inserting the alternative activated network sim card then turn On the phone and key in the Nuc.

A forum search may throw up some similar threads will support and advice in.

How-do-I-use-my-nuc.

I wish you all the best with this situation.

Hi @bandofbrothers,

Thanks for the reply so swiftly. I'll look into the other options.

I have an unlocked phone myself in which the sim I was using just immediately works and connects to VM via its app to tell me all about my account and it demands mobile data only to do it. It just worked immediately. I did not need to call, use a code or activate the sim. It just worked.

I have read in horror the number of issues on this site regarding unlocking. I am having similar issues with Alcatel phones on Tesco Mobile where the advice I was given was.... Try a Vodafone sim
