3 Problems (1) new Suresignal and DLink Router and (2) using two SS boxes (3) registering on 2 x SS

Hi guys

(1)

So I have a lovely new super-quick DLink DIR-845L router.

I have plugged in my new design suresignal - SN 40124115722 and 1 hour later still have one flashing light.

I can see the ethernet lights flashing like crazy but we are not getting a connection. This used to work without issue on my Linksys router. I also have one of the second model SS's which works fine on the linksys. when I plugged it into the DLink i get the same issue as above.

Presuming the SS is not faulty, Either I may need to wait longer.... or I suppose the DLink router may need to have some settings changed around fixed IP addresses or port forwarding or similar but probably need some step by step guidance around that as am fairly clued up but not an expert on all that kinda stuff.

With 2 x suresignals how do you get them to work on the same lan ? My setup is BT homehub2, then distributed around old house using sureplugs to 2 x other wifi routers - the linksys and the dlink mentioned. The SS boxes go into those two routers

Prior to getting the dlink I used 2 x Linksys and both SS's conncted fine, but there seemed to be an issue with the phones trying to connect to either of  them, they seem to conflict

Envisaging that I get the Dlink working - and it is feasible, how do I set up the two SS's?

At the moment I cant seem to register the same phone on the 2 SS boxes... when I try to put the number in the second box it says that it is already registered. That doesn't seem right - I can register it on other peoples... so why not my own second one?

I thought that perhaps I could get phones switching between them like in the real celular world - can they do that on the fly?

All help gratefully recieved.

Phil

Problem (1) is fixed - setting a static IP address seemed to work

So how do I now work with 2 SS's? and register on both?

Thanks

Ah.... so also the registration thing seems ok... hmmm... so we're down to whether you can work with two SS's

Hi Phil,

Thanks for posting! I'm glad to see some of your query managed to get solved before I landed. :Winking_smiley:

As long as your internet speeds support having two units, you should be able to use them both on the same connection. You'll need to register them each individually on different mobile numbers for admin rights.

It's also worthwhile pointing out that Sure Signal doesn't support handover so if you're moving from one unit to another mid call, you may lose the connection.

If you need any more advice or help, let my team know.

Cheers, Ben
