3G Network performance

Until 2 weeks ago, I had not realised how bad Vodafones 3G coverage is. I had been having problems with by Home Broadband (now resolved) and as a backup bought one (not Three 😉 of the Mifi devices (new black one).

I drive a lot between Glasgow/St Andrews and Glasgow/Oban generally have no 3g Vodafone coverage along most of the journey. With the Mifi device nearly a full signal all the way on both routes.

I've tried comparisons in lot's of other areas and the Mifi device wins everytime - with a solid 3G or HSDPA connection.

My conclusion? If you use data and need 3G or faster then Vodafone need to do some catching up. I will certainly not be renewing our contracts when it expires - and as a customer for nearly 10 years, I find that disappointing.

hello Clive S and thanks for posting.

I can appreciate the comparison over 3g and in specific areas. Various networks cover different parts of the country to varying levels, if your route falls within an area in which we are yet to enhance coverage there is not much we can do until such a point.

We are always looking to expand our coverage, and if possible would appreciate any postcodes or in depth rout details so we can look at the coverage in question.
