All Mobile Pay Monthly contracts change to a 30 day rolling contract once the initial contract term has reached full term. The Uk Networks all run pretty much the same.
Once a term has been reached then the onus is on the Account Holder to let it still run or upgrade or change to sim only or to Payg or if so required ask for a PAC Code to move their number to another provider.
Vodafone requires 30 days notice if a person simply wants to cancel and thus lose the mobile number.
The exception is using a PAC Code within 30 days of getting it from Vodafone by giving it to a new Network that then effectively closes the account straightaway.
The final bill comes in around 2 weeks.
Do not cancel the Direct Debit until the final bill is paid , any relevant refunds processed and a £0 bill and Sorry your leaving letter has arrived which confirms cancellation.
