Account Barring and Closure

Hi All,

 

I have Vodafone line and as does my partner on someone elses Red Sharer.

 

They are the account holder and etc for both those accounts, but where the users and pay our share.

 

However, last month the actual account holder has not paid for there own contracts whilst me and my partner have paid ours.

 

Now the account has arrears of £280 and this months bill is now £500, meaning the acutaly account holder has £420 to pay. With us covering the other £80

 

i doubt they will.

 

Now my question is, as the previous bill was unpaid when will the account become restricted?

 

its now 10 days overdue, secondly when would the account become closed due to non payment?

 

I only ask as I dont have any of the contracts to review to see Vodafones typical practices.

Hi,

 

When this highlights on Vodafones radar they would try to initiate contact with the account holder to secure payment. 

 

The timeframe to stop outgoing services I would suspect would be at Vodafones discretion if payment isn't made in order to stop the bill from increasing. 

 

Incoming restrictions would follow. 

 

This can in the extreme lead to 6 year lasting defaults on a credit file. 

 

May I say If this was my situation I'd think about getting my own contract either on Pay Monthly or Payg.

Evidently yes it would be the case we'd seek a contract on later date, given the likly outcome now.

 

Furthermore I know Vodafone have called my Phone and my Partner in hopes of reaching the account holder.

 

Who I know has now got another contract plus a second with another netowrk.

 

But was hoping to find a timescale so we could plan.

I maybe way off the mark but if the account holder has moved onto another network already and not paid the outstanding bill this certainly would instigate me making plans now instead of awaiting Vodafones actions. 

 

I would Act now to acquire a new number and update family, friends , colleagues and businesses that need updating before people start trying to contact you on a possibly soon to be deactivated number.
