I've had my BB Q10 for about 18 months under contract, Yesterday it started to behave strangely on wake-up. The display would blink between being totally black and being lit up, but with the white area as pink and darker area as light blue, like when a computer display is failing and not showing colours properly. I've tried several battery pulls, but now it doesn't show anything at all on the display, and the keyboard is not lit. The battery is fully charged. It seems like a display problem. I haven't got it wet, and I've never dropped it. If I take to to a VF shop, will they replace it? I have another 4 months to go until I can upgrade my contract online.

Thanks for your reply. It's got a month-old (proper BB) battery in there. I tried another battery, but it didn't make any difference. Latest firmware/OS, which was upgraded several months ago. No new apps. I'm 99.9% certain that it's a display issue as it's on and receiving messages (I can hear the notifications) even though it's completely unlit (not even the kbd). It came back to life yesterday afternoon and I did a full backup via BB Link and thought it was OK. But it's gone awry again this morning. So taking it to a VF shop isn't really any good?

Thanks again. I'll take it to a VF shop this morning and see what they say. But there aren't any BB outlets that I know of in central London (do they even have any?) to which to take it. Would you contact BB online first? But I would have thought that they'd just redirect me straight back to VF, seeing as it's under contract with them.
Just saw this on BB website "for smartphones purchased through a carrier or retailer":
Your carrier can answer questions about technical support, network coverage and billing. Check your cellular bill for your provider's contact details.
For information on warranty or repairs, please contact your service provider or point of purchase retailer.

Took my broken Q10 to a VF shop in London's Oxford Street. Turns out it would cost ca £300 to fix. Anyway, I've now discovered the delights of non-BB phones, so perhaps it's all been for the good. Purchased a (far cheaper than BB) VF Smart 4 Turbo, with which I'm very pleased. Will probably u/g to a Samsung when I can later this year.
Thanks again for your help.
