You certainly can use your Samsung to connect your netbook to the internet but it can be very data hungry
If you've got the unlimited internet, you could use the 500Mb very fast as you'll be vuiewing full size pages, not converted-for-mobile ones.
All you need to do to get set up is:
Setting up the modem
1. On the PC, click Start, click Control Panel.
2. If Pick A Category is displayed, click Switch to Classic View from the left menu.
3. Double click Phone and Modem Options.
4. Click the Modems tab.
5. Select Samsung Data Modem, click Properties.
6. Click the Advanced tab.
7. In the Extra initialization commands box, enter at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,”internet” sony = 5
8. Click OK twice.
Setting up the connection
1. On the PC, click Start, click Control Panel.
2. Double click Network Connections (Network and sharing centre if on Vista)
3. Click on Create a new connection from the left menu.
4. The New Connection Wizard will appear, click Next.
5. Select Connect to the Internet, click Next.
6. Select Set up my connection manually, click Next.
7. Select Connect using a dial-up modem, click Next.
8. Select the Modem – Samsung Data Modem and ensure all other modems are de-selected, click Next.
9. In the ISP Name field enter Vodafone UK (GPRS) click Next.
10. In the Phone number field, enter *99# and click Next. *99***5#
11. In the User name field enter web
12. In the Password field enter web
13. In the Confirm password field enter web, click Next.
14. Click Finish.
15. When the Connect box appears, click Cancel.
Making the connection
1. On the PC, click Start, click Control Panel.
2. Double click Network Connections.
3. Double click Vodafone UK (GPRS)
4. Click Dial.
You will now be connected to the GPRS Service.
