Bold 9900 No Service

Hello

I've got a bit of an annoying issue with my Blackberry.

When the phone loses signal, it doesn't seem to keep on looking, just gives up.

I keep on noticing the No Service message where it should say Vodafone, when I am in places where I know I should have signal. 

Going to manual connections, unticking the Mobile Network Box, the re ticking forces the phone to search again, this finds a Vodafone signal and all is good, untill a couple of hours later when I notice I agian have No Service . . . .

Any ideas?
