Brand new SureSignal v3 not connecting - why so difficult?

I've just purchased a brand new SureSignal v3 direct from Vodafone to overcome a lack of signal on my wife's Vodafone mobile in our new house.  In fact the area has poor coverage from all networks and I couldn't get an EE signal on my own phone either, but a 4 min call to EE resulted in them sending me their Signal Box (a Cisco device) completly free (unlike the £69 Vodafone cost), plugged it in and gave them a quick call to register, and I've had a perfect signal ever since.

Back to the SureSignal, registered it on my wife's Vodafone account no problem, but after about 20 mins of the first white light flashing, and what seemed to be a couple of reboots, it goes into the state where the power light is flashing, and the first light is solid orange. ie/

I've just wasted about 3-4 hours when I should be sleeping trying to troubleshoot it and follow advice on this forum, all to no avail.

My ISP is Zen.  My IP is fixed, and is 88.98.84.34.  My router is Zen's free Zyxel VMG1312-B10D.

My Speedtest result is:

Pingtest.net result is 25ms ping, 1ms jitter

Grateful if you could advise a way forward please?

Many thanks
