Hi all
I wonder if someone can guide me as what I should do, I just got a Vodafone SIM card and is currently roaming outside of the UK, I can call and send messages, but cannot receive calls and messages, but I can receive messages from Vodafone. I have tried it on different mobiles thus can eliminate that it is a mobile issue.
Vodafone UK‘s support is just totally hopeless.
1: 1st live chat technician said he refresh and it would surely work after 10 min. not working
2: 2nd live chat technician said it is a pre activation bar, he said he fixed it, it should work after 5 min.
3: Called Vodafone support, after 30 min on hold and being directed to different people I was put to a technician who was going to trouble shoot my phone for me, which is useless because it’s not the problem of the phone.
When I told him that a live chat told me it might be a pre activation bar, he agreed immediately but said it needs 24hours. (Which now I understand he completely does not know what he is doing)
What should I do? Vodafone support is total hopeless and I would just waste my time explaining my problem each time to them and not getting it fixed.
Does anyone know of any email that I can contact of competent people?
It’s been almost 2 weeks now and I really need to get this sorted as I can’t receive calls and messages.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, I'm not sure if it's directed to me.
Anyway, as I would be staying awhile longer in the States I purchased mobile service from TMobile USA. I did have an issue earlier on and contacted their customer services by phone, free call anywhere worldwide I might add. After keying in my particulars, a live rep, nice cheery young Yank went into action. He took ownership of the problem, explain the remedy ,upon resolution offered me either a cash credit or rebate and followed up by phone to see if all was to my satisfaction.
No chatting nor emailing, Realville-it still exists in the World but fading fast

@Miami33009 Not that helps resolve your issue but your experience with the cheery young Yank is exactly the same experience I get if I need to contact DTAC in Thailand. Not only do I get to select from 6 languages but I get then get connected to someone who is fluent in that language. The agent gives his / her name, a direct contact number and email address and takes ownership of the question until it is resolved. Calls to the customer service number are free from anywhere in the world and the maximum time to wait for an initial email response ( not an automated reply ) is 4 hours.
Much the same for the follow-up that you received, DTAC make telephone contact again after 2 hours of the problem being resolved and again the following day.
Better still the only DTAC call centre is in Thailand rather than scattered around the world.

Is there no respite from solicitation.
I support 2 abandon kids in Guyana and have a rescue dog who I hope to take with me when I return to Gibraltar.
Vodafone is this of what you resort to instead of addressing your subscribers issues aka diversion?

Hello @Miami33009
If you have not received a reference number, this means we have not received your email form.
I cannot arrange for someone to contact you directly through this forum page, as the forum is not a secure method to give security information.
Please complete another email form sent to you through Private Message (following the points below) and we will help you further.
If you are presented with an error while trying to use the form please try the following steps:
-Try using a different browser, such as Google Chrome
-Try to minimise the number of characters in the messages, as messages that are too long will not send. If you cannot write everything you wish to mention don't worry as our customer service will call or email you, giving you the full opportunity to elaborate and discuss anything
-When typing in the routing code at the top of the form, please ensure you only type in the code - you cannot input any additional information (such as a title or subject)
-Clear your cache and cookies
-If you still cannot send the email, please use a different email account

@ Cara_B
Did not have any junk mail. Filled out and submitted the form 5 times.
Can someone from vodafone contact me and resolve it for me?
Why is support so hopless, and with due respect, do you actually know what you are doing?

Me too! I can't receive either inbound calls or texts here in Miami. Advisors are lovely people but like eating a bag of crisps, temporary gratification. Quite generous in compensation though what good is it if you can't use it.
4 days running with no solution in sight.
