There would be no other way to see this other than using the systems that the Broadband providers use.
Did you move from BT to Vodafone or Vodafone to BT?
If so it should have been a working line takover which means your old provider would have been dicsonnected on your activation date and the new provider would have activated their connection normally on same day.
Your best bet here would be to call into Vodafone and speak to a customer service agent and get them to check your order status. It should tell them whether someone took over your line or if it was ceased.
