Connection Irratic Behaviour

Hello

I have Globe trotter connect software with option icon modem.

The connection works randomly, sometimes everything is ok, sometimes i get connected but none of the network services work. Only thing i can do is disconnect, and then connect again which seems to make things fine again. But its frustrating to do this all the time!

I always get IP and other settings, but am unable to open webpages etc. Even the signal is strong (EDGE). Still none of the network services work.

There are no firewall, virus etc. software that are interfering, i've checked all the basic stuff.

I'm facing this problem on win xp pro and win xp home. Any ideas?

If you're getting an Edge signal, and not a 3G one, you might be leaning more towards a 2G signal. Can I ask whether you've tried any other software besides the default Globe trotter application?

If you've tried to use the VMC (Vodafone mobile Connect) application has there been a noticeable improvement or difference? Other options include a change of location or putting the sim into a phone and attempting an internet connection via the phone browser.

The above helps to refresh a network connection and subsequently improve your reception, please give it a try :)
