Cost of calling someone in Australia with my UK Mobile whilst in Australia. Is it a local call.

We are going to Australia soon visiting family. If I ring them when I'm there will it be classed as a local call.

If you opt into World Traveller you can use your allowance as if you were in the UK for a small daily chage.

As mentioned by @kids, if signed up for World Traveller, then any calls/texts to Australian and UK Numbers, will come out of your UK allowance. Premium Numbers are excluded.

All you do is pay £5 for the day. Midnight to Midnight is based on Local time in Canberra.

I don't want to pay £5 a day to make a few phone calls a day. In that cas I will buy an international Sim card which is a lot cheaper option and forward my uk number to it.

@proterra28 With WT you only pay on the days you actually use  it and you can also use your UK data allowance as well.

Hi I've found a optus sim card for only 2 Aus $  a day with 50gb data and free calls and txt.  That's only about £1 uk
