I have a 2015 default showing on my credit file which is currently stopping me proceeding with purchasing a house I have a accepted offer on.
have rang Vodafone and due to the urgency needed, paid the default amount.
is this going to be removed? when? I now can’t get through to anybody in “customer service” helpful enough to help me.
i need this sorting out ASAP so I can purchase this house. Please help
do Vodafone not realise that slapping these random defaults on people files, they are affecting their lives? Mine was a mistake, it shouldn’t be there, and now it’s effevtknv me buying a house, this is unfair.

Hi @Hayley1986
I totally appreciate from my own experience how damaging a default can be.
When you paid the owed amount this will have changed the Default Status from Outstanding to Settled but would still remain on your Credit File for 6 years, if the Default was warranted.
Let the Vodafone Social Social Media Team here who read all posts catch up with your thread and they'll help you with this situation if they can.
Some info on why defaults typically end up being applied and how to deal with one in Default-on-your-Credit-File-And How-to-add-a-Notice-of-Correction.

Good morning,
So is this default a mistake? If so, then someone at Vodafone can pick up your case and investigate for you. You just need to wait for them to message you on here.
For this defaut to stand, the bill needs to have been correct and you need to have been billed.
There are a lot of posts on this forum about people finding surprise defaults on their credit ratings from Vodafone around the time the billing platform migrations were going on.
The only thing that surprised me about your post is that you paid the default amount. This would indicate that it was correct. If that was the case then as per the information above. It'd stay on file for 6 years.
If you can't wait for a response here (I know you said it's urgent) then go to www.vodafone.co.uk/complaints and get it logged that way.
They too will be able to help if this is a default registered as a result of a (Vodafone) mistake.
