So the release date is the 11th of March but if you pre-order Samsung says you can benefit by having it 3 days early. Will vodafone honour that? I've pre-ordered mine but the sales guys have no idea when the phones will start to get dispatched.

Guess because there has been no futher communication regarding fulfillment of pre orders. Many carriers periodically send emails related to delivery, providing updates and reassurances. Right now, there's a lot of uncertainity (i.e will all pre-orders be fulfilled by 8th, etc). Maybe if Vodafone sent an email reassuring they have stock and that we would get our phones by 8th it would be nice. It's good for PR, especially when there are a lot of people who have faced unnecesary delays in the past by Vodafone regarding pre-orders. Live chat says something else, when you call they say something else. Plus people who had their orders "stuck" 

ssrj, why would they send out comms if there's nothing to report? An email saying "don't worry, despite sending you an order confirmation when you ordered, telling you the phone is in stock and will be delivered next week, here's another email to tell you that the phone is in stock and will be delivered next week". It would be an utter waste of everyone's time, and serve no purpose other than clogging up peoples' inboxes. 

 

You say "there is uncerainty" but I don't see that there is. The T&Cs for the pre-order offer couldn't be more explicit, and there is absolutely no reason to think the phones won't be delivered per the T&Cs.

 

They will no doubt send an email when the phones ship. Until then, any comms is pointless, and any desire for comms just demonstrates a distinct lack of patience. 

I'm not worrying about it.

 

I am however worrying over whether the bootloader is unlocked, but I've covered that in another thread.

The T&Cs were the same kind for the S6 last year and 3 quarters of them arrived 3 weeks late! The T&Cs mean nothing!

The issue is the website says that's a staff say something else consistency and certainty is what's required.

Based on everyone's posts, the staff have either said the phones will arrive on the 8th, or possibly that they'll arrive earlier. And per Kempston's comment, the chat staff are hugely untrained and frequently give vague or incorrect info. 

 

I've seen absolutely nothing in this thread or elsewhere that would lead me to believe that pre-orders are at risk of being delivered after the 8th. The T&Cs are all that matters here....

If the staff said you'll have your phone on the 8th like the website does then this thread wouldn't exist

I believe I mentioned that they told me the 11th. Web chat told me they'd change it to the 8th but I know he had no idea what he was talking about.

When I ordered it and when I called to clarify they said 11th. Seen the website said 8th so sent them a tweet and they replied they'll look into it and let me know.

They have no idea which is ridiculous

We will get it by the 8th with a 24 hour predelivery email/text and hopefully a 1 hour delivery window on the day. That's good enough for me. T&C's of the pre order states in black and white

"Customers who pre-order an Eligible Phone and Bundle before 23:59 on 6 March 2016 will receive their order by 8 March 2016."

I don't quite know what eligible phone means thought as the T&C's specifically relate to the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge...

I never received a confirmation email regarding my tariff or phone number, contacted Vodafone and they gave me my number and confirmed the tariff I had chose asking with the correct phone (edge) and correct colour. I also asked when my new contract starts and man on phone said it'll start from the 11the March so even though I've read thay if u preorder before the 6th you'll get it by the 8th I'm not really bothered until the 11th as that was stated on phone as the day I'd get it. If it comes early then great if not I can be patient til the 11th... If I haven't had any update by 11th then ofcourse I'll be chasing it up because I bought a case so really need the phone to put in it

Must say I was in a supermarket today starts with T and ends in Co and must admit the phone and colour is to die for, so looking forward ti getting to play with it properly
