Well, I did it.
I did everything your asked me to and more.
I unplugged my old BT brick,
plugged in my Vodafone brick,
switched it on,
left it for about 12 hours,
restarted it,
restarted it again,
restarted it once again,
but still no Broadband!
I write this as my mobile ticks past 43 minutes on hold,
with that polite "we're really busy at the moment, sorry for the delay".
I know all the lyrics to your hold music,
read your literature from front to back and to front again.
but still no broadband and no support.
What did did I do?
Should I have really left BT? At least I had broadband.
Why did I not just slum it and get Sky broadband?
Now my phone ticks past 47 minutes on hold and I have made myself a hot chocolate, Kids are asleep, and while my guitar gently weeps I still have no broadband.
Two tin cans and a wet string seem better than this.
Surely I can see and end to this endless queue, please release me!
"...you should go and love yourself" sings me to near sleep and hints at a life better than this phone queue.
it is now 52 mins on the call and I will end this at 53, I promise.
good bye I am hanging up now, still no broadband.

It's been many a year since I dealt with a company as profoundly useless as Vodafone.
For me, they don't seem to be able to handle to concept of sending a router via a magical thing called a 'courier'.
I bet even if I go ahead with the activation next week it'll go about as smoothly as yours.
Still, it sounds like you've at least managed to keep your sense of humour!

So I'm trying is again.
Vodafone have kindly billed me £25 for a broadband service they haven't yet supplied, but I'll keep that one in my back pocket for now.
This is time I chose to accept a call back, the voice system kindly informs me I will receive a call back "...in more than 3 hours".
Do I go out now and invest in some heavy duty coffe and sweat it out or turn in early and expect a call tomorrow at some point?
who knows. Be prepared for another fun filled and action packed report from me. Still no broadband..

Well they called me back,
but I am on hold while my service is provisioned.
Jolly nice chap chap is happy to do this with copious pauses on hold presumably to handle other calls at the same time.
Apparently I will have Internet in 15 minutes or so...
we we shall see. Hopefully my next post will be from

Woohoo! I have broadband!
Before the stroke of midnight, my router connected and beat out it's heartbeat in binary digits.
Thanks, apparently it was my router's serial number not registered.

I'm so happy to hear that you're up and running now, we hope you enjoy the service from here on out.
