Early impressions..

I;ve upgraded from a 6 plus to the 6S plus and my early impressions are as follows. Pleased to hear what you think of the new phone. 

 

Positives:

Camera is far better

More solid in build quality

 

 

Negatives:

Battery life seems to be less

3d touch at the moment feels a bit of a gimmick. 

IOS9.0.1 feels bogged down and slow.

 

In general, I would not have rushed to upgrade from the 6 to the S as there really isn;t that much increase in functionality to justify the extra £££ spent on the unit.

 

(That said I won;t be returning it as hope that the 3d touch, at the least, gets better with time and as apps develop.) Also hope that the IOS 9.1 sorts out all the issues.. especially the ability to backup the icloud over wifi.

Don't worry, I'm convinced it was a total anomaly.  I went into a meeting and by the time I got to Waterloo afterwards it was back to 0.1Mbs up and down and then by the time I reached Clapham down to 3G and E 😉

 

But atleast I know the phone can achieve great things even if it's network contrained.

I updated from the iPhone 6 to the 6s plus. The battery life on the plus is much better, the Touch ID is much faster as well.

I really like what I've been reading about 3D Touch. The consensus seems to be that it never triggers when you didn't intend to, and always triggers when you do. Can't wait to use it myself.

I really like 3D touch and use it a lot. For example, a long harder than normal press on the phone icon brings up the firsts three entries in favourites. I have my house, wife and eldest daughter there and so it's very easy to initiate a call.

 

Other apps are gradually introducing more 3D touch features, such as Whatsapp.

I upgraded from the 6 and while some of the improvements are quite nuanced, it is a much better phone. The 3D Touch will be huge going forward and as previously mentioned, the battery life is a hell of a lot better. I do like getting new hardware but Apple have done some pretty cool stuff under the hood. Would definitely recommend it.
