iPhone charging trouble!!

After taking mine phone off charge it has lost all power and it will not switch on. the home button is extremly hot but the phone is not reacting to anything. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was the outcome?

Hello,

On the iPhone hold down the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button together until the Apple Logo shows. Then On seeing this Apple Logo release both buttons ,and the iPhone will reset , which has been known to clear most glitches.

Edit : Look at hooking up to iTunes and restore it after carrying a Back up to iCloud and or iTunes. 

If your within the 12 months warranty and you have an Apple Store local then pop in and they arrange to Text you to return that day to run a diagnostic on it.

How long have you had it? I agree with bandofbrothers, try and reset it but failing that take it into an Apple Store. You probably just got unlucky!
