Emails suddenly full of equal (=) signs! Sony Xperia Aqua

Hi, I'm using a Sony Xperia Aqua and for no apparent reason all my incoming emails are suddenly peppered with random '=' signs all over the place. When I download the same emails on my laptop the = signs aren't there in the incoming emails, so it's all a bit strange.

Please does someone know how to fix this?

Hi guys,

Have you made sure that the phone’s on the latest version of software?

Are you getting any other issues or error messages on the phone when you try and use it?

My phone has the latest system software and I don't have any other issues apart from the e-mail.

Yes, my phone is using the most recent software update, and there are no other problems with it.

Hi you could try clearing the data in the app settings or delete the email account and then set it back up.

Hi @karlryan and @bigblueamazon,

It seems Sony are receiving several reports about this and are handling it internally.

A workaround that they've suggested in the meantime, is to use the Gmail app instead.
