Firmware download failing

I've been experiencing some issues with my Huawei K4505 USB stick and found some similar problems documented. The recommendation is to update the firmware. The link for the firmware http://uploads.vodafone-ets.co.uk/Public/vmc/Firmware/K4505/K4505Update_11.828.03.00.11.B427.exe. always times out. Is there a problem with the server or is there somewhere else that I should be getting it from ?

If you have 2 browsers , try it on a different browser.
also try deleting all temp internet files/cookies and try again.

Timeouts are more than likely troubles communicating with the download server. keep trying

It times out for me too. It looks like a Vodafone site problem.

I would be very careful with firmware upgrades, and concentrate on upgrading to latest full variant 9.4.6 connection software for your PC at business site

Yes normally there isn't much call to upgrade dongle firmware but the K4505 does have issues on 2G so needs it's updates.

The firmware urls given on the troubleshooting thread Mobile Broadband Help aren't valid anymore so the admins should update it and anyway, I think there is a more recent K4505 firmware available than the one mentioned.

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the eForum, it's always great to see new faces on here :).

I've just tested the link myself and have gotten the timeout error too. I've just emailed our data specialist to ask whether the link has changed and also whether the update is still valid. Once I have an update, I'll let you know.

I've had a reply back and can confirm that the upload page is currently down. So that we can assist you further with your issue, can you let me know exactly what issues you're experiencing?

Also, can you let me know whether you're using the Black or White K4505 and also the firmware version it's currently running. This can be found in VMC (Vodafone Mobile Connect).

I've had a good look around and can't see any other links for the firmware. After looking it seems I need this to update my K4505 so that it wont have problems when on the 2G Vodafone UK network.

Its the same problem as highlighted in http://vodafoneuk.lithium.com/t5/Mobile-Broadband/K4505-Modem-stick-disconnecting-on-GPRS/td-p/34924... 

If you could provide an alternative weblink to get the latest firmware for the K4505 I'd be really grateful!

The download site uploads.vodafone-ets.co.uk doesn't even respond to ping so I guess it is dead. Where else can I get the K4505 firmware upgrade ?
