Galaxy S5 sending some sms messages but not all

Oddbodkinz

My Galaxy S5 seems to send some SMS messages but not others. For instance yesterday my wife received two of the messages I sent - but not the third. My Galaxy S5 says it's been sent - her Galaxy S6 hasn't received it.. It doesn't seem to be an MMS issue - whilst the text she didn't receive is relatively long, it shows on my phone as SMS, rather than MMS. Anybody experienced the same thing?

Hi,

Normally I would have pointed to a MMS issue too as sending long texts can convert a sms to a MMS. It maybe worth asking customer service to provision MMS on your account.

Can you try your Sim Card in another phone as a process of elimination to rule out the phone or sim card that may be at fault. Try another Sim in your phone. If necessary any Vodafone Shop can replace the Sim Card via a Sim Swap.

Hi @Oddbodkinz

The maximum number of characters for SMS is 160. Smartphones automatically convert the message to MMS when the maximum number of SMS characters is exceeded. If you are sending a messages over the maximum number, it may be better to split the message into two parts.

It may be that your Wife's phone is not enabled to receive MMS, if she contacts Vodafone, they will be able to check her account.
