Galaxy s6 doesn't detect car's Bluetooth

My partner recently got an S6 from Vodafone. When we tried to connect the Bluetooth to our 2010 model Mercedes, the car could see the S6 but the S6 steadfastly refused to see the car's Bluetooth. My Sony Z3Compact connects to the car perfectly, as did my partners old Nokia 625. Any suggestions on what the problem might be? If the phone doesn't see the car then it doesn't give us the pairing code...

Hi,

Does the car manual provide what Bluetooth frequencies its uses so you can double check the phone supports those. I'm assuming it should as its a recent phone model.

It maybe an idea to both speak with Samsung U.K. Support and either Mercedes Support or your local dealership.

Im not sure but there maybe a forum that exists for Mercedes Owners where you could enquiry too. Google search may bring up further solutions.

Please don't think I'm trying to send you elsewhere for help but instead that the suggestions I make may send you in the right direction for your specific help needs.

Bluetooth in cars is a can of worms.   In the first instance, your best option is to check with a dealer to see if there's an update for the car's software.   Motor manufacturers are more concerned with making cars than connectivity software and their BT is often quite well behind what phones are fitted with.
