Gmail help

I have a Huawei P9 Lite i received it on Wednesday. I started to set up the phone when it asked for a gmail account so i made a gmail account on the phone,but i stupidly didnt set one up online first. Now i cant use my phone,i have been on live chat and was told how to reeboot and wipe the phone to start again,it hasnt worked,i then took it into the Vodaphone shop and they did the same i had done then said send the phone back. Is there anyway to sort this out without sending the handset back.

Reset the phone without doing a back up and set the phone up from scratch.   Use the same log in details to log into your gmail account  on your PC. 

This should sort it out.

Hi go to settings, advanced settings, backup and reset, ensure automatic restore is turned off then do a factory data reset, bottom option in list.

Then do as @AnnS says and start again with a Google account you have set up.

Hi the phone wont let me go past gmail account set up,i try putting in the email i have set up but it says this is not the account the phone is synced with.

Turn the phone off. When you turn it back on, go to your settings by pilling down the top and proceed as John mentioned.

Did you get this sorted?   One solution might be to set up a new Google account on a computer then connect the phone to that when it asks for a login.

Try turning the phone off then press power on and volume up button at the same time for a few seconds.

Release as soon as the huawei logo appears.

Use the volume button to scroll too wipe data/factory reset then use power button to select.

Then select the same again then select reboot system using power button.

The after it all resets try setting up again.
