Google Assistant.
After trying out various assistants such as Cortana and Siri I found they could sometimes be a little hit and miss and I mostly used them for initiating a call, dictating a text and sending it or setting an alarm or creating a Reminder or Calendar entry.
Looking forward to trying this one.
Do you use these assistants for similar reasons ?
Do they come in handy in the car for hands free usage reasons ?

Hi @SKYMAN513 and @Stevie1
Yes thanks for the heads up ~ I've read the various notes about Bixby and it's limited use at the moment. I'm a patient guy so Google Assistant covers my current needs.
Heres my take on my choice of phone.
As you maybe aware I buy my Samsung Phones from Samsung at full retail price.
The Samsung Galaxy s7 edge was £599.00.
The Samsung Galaxy s8 is £689.00 with its dimensions hitting the sweet spot for me.
The s8+ at £799.00 brings a slightly longer screen and marginally larger battery but its battery capacity is actually smaller than the s7 edge ! Samsung perhaps playing safe.
I too was tempted by the Note 8 @Stevie1 but from recent reports the phone maybe even longer than the s8+ which will be way out of my comfort zone, with the fps built into the front new home button and the famous pen.
The cost is a factor too as my personal opinion is the Note 8 could be £100-£150 more than the s8+ which could make it around £930.00 'ish.
The s8 being a little longer than my s7 edge hits the sweet spot for me and it's narrower so better one handed use.

Hi STEVIE 1
your reply about wanting the note 8 instead of the s8 surprised me. I can tell from reading all your posts that you no your stuff, and also reading other reviews about the now gone note 7 is sad but not forgotten. but nearly all of them said even though they obviously had a problem with the battery, they was going to miss it a lot
As i have no experience with the note 7 it must of been a really great device,
Which makes me understand why you would wait that long for the device you want
I would love to know what was special about that phone
So I would presume when Samsung release the new version of it, I think they will pull out all the stops to make it even more special and restore more faith in the brand
My reason for not looking at a note 7 before the disaster was that I presumed it was a bankers sort of business phone.
Any way I can not upgrade yet but by the time the new note comes out I will definitely give it a look

Hi Skyman513,
The notes are just not for business use but are in fact a great fone for every day use and l lik we them. From what l have read about the note 8 will run android 7.1.1 out of the box and should upgrade to 7.2 it will also have all of the features as the S8+ as well as any new features Samsung decided to include. I don't need to wait to upgrade my phone as l always buy
them myself either from carphone warehouse or direct from the manufacturers.
I like my S7 edge and if the screen was a bit bigger i would probably keep it but l miss not having a galaxy note.

I agree @Stevie1 the Note 7 was an awesome device both under the hood and aesthetically too. Oozed class
When I was looking to buy to replace my iPhone 6 Plus I must have picked that and the edge up quite a few times to decide.
Then as I got paid when I returned it had been suspended from sale and what we all now know with the battery problems surfaced. Hence I bought the s7 edge.
The s8 is a bit taller than the s7 edge which is why I've chosen to Pre-Order that yesterday and will pick it up from my local Samsung Experience Store this Friday.
I was tempted to await for the Note 8 Unpacked event later in the year but all current reports seem to suggest it'll be even longer than the s8+ ! Which is just too big for my wants and needs.
Thst said it'll be very interesting to what they include under the hood with it and what Battery capacity they include.
I noticed Samsung have included a slightly smaller battery capacity in the s8+ than what's currently in the S7 edge ! Playing safe and I can't blame them.

Sounds like a customised s8
Sounds like that phone will be something extra special
I'm starting to notice these big mobile device manufacturers no how to start a frenzie about them but they are starting earlier and earlier

I read on a site because of how technologies evolve they could put a slightly smaller battery in because they optimised it lot better and gained 40% more power.it was some thing to do with the new exynos8895 chip.
I had a feeling BANDOFBROTHERS would purchase one eventually from reading is posts
I hope does a review (hint)
When he gets his hands on it after a few weeks use
