HTC One V - message pending

I have poor Vodafone reception at home, HTC One V settings shows "Mobile network - Disconnected because service in unavailable" - so I have Wifi enabled with 5 bars signal strength - but I sill cannot send text messages, they have Status "Pending". Is this correct? Should I still be able to send text messages with wifi (only) ?

Hi there

 

I would expect you to get a message like that if you try to use WiFi to send a text message.  A text message isn't data and needs to be sent via Vodafone's message service centre - it can't be sent via WiFi as you aren't connected to Vodafone's network.  If you were using WhatsApp or a similar service, it uses data to send the message so it would send over WiFi.

 

You have a couple of options here... you could try sending the message once you are in an area with better signal or could send the message via WhatsApp.

 

Long term, if you have signal issues at home, you could purchase a SureSignal device that will create a personal transmitter in your home and greatly improve the signal that you receive.
