HTC One speaker not working

Hi, im having a problem with my htc one, when making phonecalls i cant hear the other person and they cant hear me. it also makes no dialling noises, just silence. Thought originally it was the speaker however works ok for music and skype just phonecalls. any ideas?

Can you try your SIM in another phone to see if you get the same issue?

If it’s just your phone that’s not working on calls, it’ll need a repair.

Does this happen on phone calls only, or can you not get any sound at all?  If it's the latter, it could be dirt in the headphone socket causing this not to switch back over.  Some people have reported being able to clear this by poking carefully, but it's risky and I wouldn;t recommend it.  Putting the plug in and turning might help, but that's as far as I'd go.

If it happens on calls only, it might be worth trying a factory reset.  It's a pain, but this would happen as part of the repair process anyway, so you won't have lost anything.  Don't forget to back up your content first!
