HTC one, sluggish texting after patch

So had a system update run two weeks ago. Since then the text message app has been mega laggy. Typing text out is laggs with the displaying whats been typed, i click reply and if i dont wait to make sure it has brought up the contacts number it creat a new blank contact text message.

Anyone else had anything like this?

If your texts are important, I'd investigate 3rd party apps that can back them up (usually to Google Drive afaik).   HTC's transfer tool can copy them from one device to another, but whether the backup program includes them, I also don't know.

I use SMSBackup+ which backs the texts up to my Gmail account. Once I have done a factory reset of my device, I use the same app to restore the texts to my phone.

The honest answer is I don't know?
I use Google Hangouts for my text messages as that does backup all messages.

You could set hangouts as your default messaging app for sms , that way you know you have the message saved.
Be sure to sync google first!

As a backup copy the text message and paste it to an email, then email it to yourself...
